I've been reading Hark! A Vagrant the past few days. Why hasn't anyone pimped/recced this out? (Or else, if you did, how did I miss you doing so?) I know several of you have read it, your icons tell me so. I totally want the "invention of the t-shirt" t-shirt.

Speaking of drawings, uh, I might have done one. Of a typical breakfast in the Fire Nation Palace. Totally the fault of this entry and thread.

Under cut, cause it's kinda big. Sorry the total crappiness of being drawn in pen on yellow legal pad. Also because I suck at drawing.

This is really short, and completely without a beta, since I just wrote it in the last half hour. I just had get it out of my head, where it's been sitting and gnawing at my brain since this afternoon. So... la?

untitled merlin/doctor who crossover

That was the problem with suddenly having the memories of a very powerful wizard who didn't have the cleanest mouth thrust into your head.Collapse )
I just finished reading the final chapter of Full Metal Alchemist.

Now I'm going to recommend the series to everyone.

Seriously. Go read it. It's awesome.

Okay, this is quite possibly the cutest and sweetest thing in the world.

Couple base their engagement shoot on the Pixar movie "Up".

To all the moms on my friends list:

Happy Mother's Day!

doctor who icons

Since one person said "YES. POST THEM.", I am doing just that.

64 Doctor Who icons (with a LOT of Amy), from "The Eleventh Hour" and the "Coming Soon".

(If you snag any of them, I'd love to know!)
(If you use any of them, credit is much appreciated.)

I cannot go into work in the mood I'm currently in. I don't think I've smiled all day. Maybe once. At the cat.

So please, friends list. I beg for your help. Some time in the next three hours, cheer me up. A cute and/or funny picture, a little story, a joke, a link to something you think I'd enjoy. Anything. Please.
Feel free to ignore; this is just a list of plot bunnies that have floated in my head at various times in the last year, some of which I have mentioned before, and others I haven't mentioned at all.

aka, things I will probably never end up writingCollapse )

Sara and/or Beth: do you want to get together tonight? I'll call/text you later on unless you call/text/email me first.
Looking out and seeing nothing but a sea of fog as far as the eye can see is something quite spectacular.
Currently in Wichita to help the bro move out of his apartment. He seems to expect us to do the cleaning for him. Yeeeeah, I don't think so.
Fuck fuck fuck. My store is closing.

I am so in love with my new phone.

I am so pissed off at Mozilla Firefox that I actually opened up Internet Explorer. Firefox was working just fine until I had to reset my computer. When I went to download the browser, it was a newer version than the one I had before. Now I'm having all sorts of problems. The browser freezing up, issues with running scripts, facebook not wanting to work...

Does anyone have any advice? Like a better browser? Or something? I usually like Firefox, but I'm getting tired of all the issues.

"Ray. Ray. Ray. Ray."

Taken from nextian:

1. Pick a character, pairing, or fandom you like.
2. Turn on your music player and put it on random/shuffle.
3. Write a drabble related to each song that plays. You only have the time frame of the song to finish the drabble; you start when the song starts, and stop when it’s over. No lingering afterwards!
4. Do ten of these, then post them.

I choose due South, since I've never actually written in the fandom before. So, if these suck (and they probably do), that is why.

From dancing to tattoosCollapse )
Oh, what the heck. Maybe I'll actually be able to write something.

The "You Should Write..." Meme!
my thread here

Go for it, give me ideas!

As I'm sure several of you have heard, Dr. George Tiller was shot in his church this morning in Wichita, Kansas. You might have heard, but a suspect was arrested in Gardner, Kansas. The suspect might be from Merriam, Kansas.

I don't like to talk about politics. This is because my family has views one way, and my friends have views another way. I, myself, am a Moderate. Some issues I swing one way, some issues I swing the other.

I believe that abortion should be for cases of rape, or incest. A woman who is in that situation should have the right to decide if she wants to have the child.

However, I do not believe in late term abortion.

That does not mean I think the killing was a good thing. It absolutely wasn't. A person should never be murdered. There is absolutely no excuse for what the killer did. None what-so-ever.

I respect everyone's views, whether they're liberal or conservative, left-wing or right-wing. So please don't hate me for expressing mine.

we're going to ride forever

[prompted by this]

Her father hadn't wanted her to become a Mountie. She was his little girl, and he knew that Mounties sometimes died in the line of duty. He didn't want to lose her like he lost her mother. He had her live with her grandparents, hoping that living with a couple of librarians might get the idea out of her head.

Unfortunately, that plan failed.

It's not that he wasn't proud of her. Quite the contrary. Seeing her in that bright red uniform, hat on straight, filled his heart with so much pride. It's just that it also filled his heart with fear and dread. He had a feeling that someday soon they would be parted by not just two thousand miles, but by death.

He didn't realize he would be the one dying.

"Can I help you?"

"Yes. Constable Iris Fraser, Royal Canadian Mounted Police. I'm looking for the officer in charge of this case..."

[Because I cannot not imagine Iris saying "Thank you kindly." She totally would. Her wolf would be named Artemis, after the Greek goddess of the moon. And along with Inuit stories, she would tell stories of the Greeks (as a child, she found that section of the library quite fascinating.)]
